There is no one-size-fit-all tutoring style for everyone. Below is a range of options that we offer at Finesse Tutoring:
Structured HSC Program
Flexible small group tutoring
1-1 private tutoring
Online tutoring
Structured HSC Program
Our signature tutoring program designed for senior school students to undertake throughout their two years of senior studies (three years if starting Year 10).
We follow the typical pace of highly ranked HSC public schools, so that an average student can follow our courses without struggling. The tutor provides in-class and take home exercises that stretch from easy to challenging to suit a range of student needs.
Nine classes per school term
Max 9 students per class (2.5 hr)
$990 per term incl. GST
Flexible Small Group Tutoring
Designed for small group of similarly talented students to learn and improve together. This can be self-arranged (i.e. a few friends forming a private group) or arranged by us (if available).
Our tutors aim to bring students to the expected standard at the time of study. For students that are falling behind, this means bringing them to school speed, while for the more talented students, we provide harder exercises without outpacing the schools.
Recommended for 3-4 students
Min 2 hours per session
$220 per hour per group incl. GST
1-1 Private Tutoring
Every student may have their unique tutoring needs. You could be a bit behind class and wanting to catch up to the rest of your school mates, or doing alright in class but seem to miss the mark when it comes to school exams, or you are doing exceptionally well but want to challenge yourself beyond the school cirriculum.
When you sign up to our 1-1 private tutoring, just tell us your goal, and we will work with you towards it.
Min 1 hour per session
Flexible frequency of class
$110 per hour incl. GST
Online Tutoring
Face-to-face tutoring is our preferred means of interacting with our students, but we understand not everyone is suitable for a face-to-face session.
If you live far from our Chatswood location, or simply prefer your tutoring sessions conducted online, we can organise online 1-1 or small group tutoring to accommodate.
Same price and conditions apply as face-to-face sessions.
You are a "Top-of-the-Class" student
Does this sound like you?
Always get what the teacher is teaching
School class is pretty easy, at times boring
Consistently the top 10% of your grade
If this is you, you may find our Structure HSC Program a bit "boring". You would be more suited to:
1-1 private tutoring (1-1.5 hours): the tutor will set you harder tasks and focus on exam techniques so that you score as high as you can in your mid-term exams and the HSC
Small group tutoring (2 hours): if you have a few mates that are similarly "top-of-the-class" just like you, why not get together and excel together
You are a "Mainstream" student
Does this sound like you?
Usually get what the teacher is teaching, but miss a little bit here and there
School class is hard at times
Not the top of the class, but thankfully, not the bottom
If this is you, we recommend:
Structured HSC Program (2.5 hours): our program re-iterates key concepts of the subject, re-enforces the bits that you might have missed from school, plugs in gaps that the teacher might have unintentionally left out, and have concepts explained perhaps in a different way from school that might make you "get" it finally
Small group tutoring (2 hours): if you have a few mates that are in a similar situation as you, why not get together and learn things the fun way
You are a bit behind
Does this sound like you?
Often a bit lost in class
School class is really hard
Everyone else seems to be doing better than me
If this is you, we recommend:
1-1 private tutoring (2-3 hours): the tutor will need to re-lay the foundation with you, work our way to firstly making sure you start to catch up to regular school class contents, then gradually climbing up your rank
Structured HSC Program (2.5 hours) + 1-1 private tutoring (1 hour): the structured program will re-enforce key concepts from school, while the 1-1 time is used to address specific problems to overcome the learning difficulty
